The vital Year 9 Options Process has officially launched at UCC, marking an exciting milestone as students begin shaping their individual educational pathways for Key Stage 4. The options curriculum is meticulously structured to help students align their studies with their future career ambitions.
UCC provides three distinct learning routes: the Academic Route, aiming for the prestigious English Baccalaureate (EBacc); the Academic/Technical Route, which blends core GCSEs with Level 1 and 2 Technical qualifications; and a highly tailored Access Route for individualized support. Students are currently selecting from a diverse menu of subjects, including French, History, Animal Care, Photography, Hair & Beauty, and Media Studies, ensuring a balanced and inspiring education for all.
Our key aim is to develop an aspirational culture and to encourage all of our students to challenge themselves, naturally in the academic curriculum but also in every other sphere of a truly extensive enrichment programme
