Transition from Primary

Moving to secondary school is such an exciting time.

Take a few moments to look at our website – you’ll learn about all the different subjects that you’ll do at UCC and the hundreds of clubs and extra-curricular activities you can get involved in. There is so much to do here, in and outside the classroom!

The website contains lots of information about starting life at UCC. There are messages of advice from our students, a virtual-reality tour, top tips for life at secondary school and loads more.

There are many other ways that we’ll help you prepare to start at UCC. Before you join we will visit you in your current school. This will give you the chance to ask us any questions you might have about life in secondary school, and for us to get to know you before you start. We’ll also talk to your teachers to find out what you’re good at and where you might need some more support. This helps to make sure your classes and your teachers are just right for you in September.

If there’s anything you want to ask about transition or about life at UCC in general, don’t hesitate to get in touch – transition@ullswatercc.co.uk

Year 6 Moving Up To Year 7
Reading Challenge

This summer, teachers and staff from UCC have recorded themselves reading extracts from 26 brilliant books. You can listen to them all on the school website.

Your challenge: Can you listen to all 26?

Keep revisiting the page, as we upload all 26 videos for you.

Tick each one off as you go using the flyer given on Moving Up Day.

(If you need need a reminder here is an electronic copy: Year 6 Reading Challenge).

Take a look around…

For those of you in Year 5 or 6 who would like to have a look around the school, we have produced this 360 degree tour. You can walk around the school site and if you have a VR headset, you can even use that!
