Welcome to UCC

Ullswater Community College is an exciting and vibrant institution where students can enjoy a wide range of opportunities in an environment where great teaching results in excellent outcomes. Our progress has made us an increasingly popular choice within this community and continues to generate new ideas and aspirations for the future.

We are proud of our school and, naturally, we hope that what it offers is attractive and important to others. We are very proud of our students too; we expect a lot from them and we believe that we have much to offer in return.

The purpose of this website is to inform you about the curriculum, facilities and organisation of the school and – perhaps more importantly – to give you a flavour of our ethos and underlying philosophy. However, no website can fully capture the nature of life in a school and parents of prospective students are very welcome to look around when the school is in session. Please contact us to arrange an appointment if you would like to find out more.

Another inspiring half term in the UCC Library!

Books were brought to life for members of our book club last week when reading champion, Dave Cryer, visited to deliver a workshop about the Carnegie & Spellbinding book award shortlist.

The workshop was organised as part of our partnership working with Penrith Library,
Westmorland and Furness Libraries & included drama & creative activities based on the shortlisted books.

Students imaginative creations were very impressive & the books have been flying off the shelves since!

[Special mention to Rebecca, Freyja & Holly who acted out being a gargoyle, inspired by the book, The River Spirit by Lucy Strange!]
