Dear Parents/Carers
As you may be aware the next planned dates for teacher strike action are Wednesday 5 July and Friday 7 July 2023.
I’m getting in touch to give you as much notice as possible about our arrangements for these days, which are similar to many of the schools across the county and a result of an anticipated reduced number of teaching staff on the day:
- UCC plans to remain open to Year 10 students on each day
- School transport will be running as normal on each day
- We will endeavour to run lessons as close to their typical day as possible for the students in attendance
- Lunch will be served in the Westmorland Hall
- Years 7, 8, 9 & 12 students will remain at home on Wednesday 5 July and Friday 7 July, and have the opportunity to work online from Sparks maths, Educake and other shared resources
- Any Year 7, 8, 9 or 12 that are in receipt of free school meals – we will be providing packed lunches for these students – please complete this form to let us know that this is required and can be collected
We are sorry that you will have to make alternative arrangements for your child, and/or that they will experience disruption to their education.
I also understand that this situation may be frustrating, and ask that all members of our community continue to support the school in our endeavours to provide the best possible educational experience for all in a safe and secure environment.
We continue to work closely with our staff and will keep you informed as the coming weeks progress.
If you have any questions, please contact us at admin@ullswatercc.co.uk
Yours faithfully
Mr S Gilby
