The classrooms and corridors of Ullswater Community College are buzzing with energy as the new academic year gets off to a flying start. Over the first eight weeks, staff and students have demonstrated a fantastic attitude toward learning. This year, UCC has extended a particularly warm welcome to a record-breaking cohort of 237 Year 7 students who have joined the school family.
The transition to secondary school can be a significant step, but our newest students have settled in seamlessly—navigating the school campus, getting used to the complex new choices at lunchtime, and joining hundreds of lunchtime and after-school clubs with smiles on their faces. Headteacher Mr. Stephen Gilby praised the entire student body for their engagement, noting that high standards of conduct directly translate to more progress, better grades, and brighter futures.
