Creativity is flourishing inside the UCC art department, with students showcasing fantastic progress in a variety of mediums. This half-term, Key Stage 3 students have been diving into three-dimensional design, working with clay to produce a series of intricate ceramic sculptures.
The project allowed students to experiment with texture, glazing, and structure. Alongside these practical studio sessions, older art and design students have been preparing for major cultural trips, including an upcoming excursion to the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester to study professional contemporary works firsthand.
Our key aim is to develop an aspirational culture and to encourage all of our students to challenge themselves, naturally in the academic curriculum but also in every other sphere of a truly extensive enrichment programme
