Ullswater Community College was transformed into a green celebration recently as students and staff marked the historic 100th birthday of legendary broadcaster and environmentalist Sir David Attenborough.
The school was delighted to see a dozen individual “David Attenboroughs” roaming the corridors as staff and students dressed up in his iconic field attire. The celebration was used as an educational catalyst across Science and Geography departments, with students engaging in specialized workshops on global biodiversity, conservation, and climate action, bringing UCC’s value of global care to life.
Our key aim is to develop an aspirational culture and to encourage all of our students to challenge themselves, naturally in the academic curriculum but also in every other sphere of a truly extensive enrichment programme
