Message to Year 11 Students

By 6 November 2020No Comments

Dear Year 11s

I wanted to let you know how proud I am of you all as a year group for the mature way you have approached and managed your first half term of Y11.

The final year of GCSE studies is always a high speed and stressful time and this has only been magnified by the added pressures of national lockdowns and as a cohort you have handled this so impressively. The vast majority of you have understood the importance of your time at school and it is a pleasure to walk round classrooms seeing you so engaged and dedicated to your learning.

As we head into this second national lockdown it is crucial that you understand that, as a school, we are doing everything possible to best prepare you for your final exams. That said you must make sure you are making the most of every opportunity in the classroom, online and during intervention sessions. Obviously we remain open and your attendance at school will be key to your success; Google Classrooms and online blended learning is a great learning tool but nothing can replace the interactions you have with your teachers and peers in a physical learning environment.

Please make sure you ask questions when you are unsure; you can talk to teachers, tutors, SLT or me whenever you need and we will always do our best to help you out; nothing is unimportant.

Rest assured you are our number 1 priority and although it is unclear what the coming months will throw at us, one thing is certain; we will work together to ensure you get the very best outcomes possible.

Stay safe Year 11, you are truly an inspirational group of young men and women and I am very honoured to be your Head of Year.

Mr Castle
