A level results
Ullswater Community College students and staff receive their 2021 A Level results.
Headteacher Stephen Gilby said:
“Cumbrian schools are proud to serve our children, their families and the communities they come from. This year the situation with Covid19 and the second shutdown of schools in January makes this results day unique. The grades the students are receiving are the result of the standardisation of teacher-assessed grades we submitted back in June.”
“The grades the students have received today reflect their hard work and depth of learning throughout their time at UCC and are the ones they deserve. We congratulate them all on the manner in which they have coped in these quite extraordinary times.”
“The vast majority of students are incredibly pleased with their results and now have the keys to go onto their anticipated destinations in September. We know that one or two students may be disappointed and they will have the opportunity to sit the Autumn exam series of exams if they wish.”
“The DfE has cancelled Performance Tables for this year and there will be no amalgamated headline results published for schools, which is right and proper given the circumstances around the exams this year. There is no doubt that leaves the focus on those who really deserve it, the people we are all congratulating – our wonderful students!”
Robert Jackson, Head of Sixth Form added:
“This year, more than ever, we are all immensely proud of the combined efforts of our students, their parents, teachers and families and the way we have all worked together to secure these fantastic results. The contribution of the support students received during those times of online learning, be that national lockdowns or periods of self-isolation, cannot be underestimated and I have no doubt that the resilience, work ethic and determination that our students demonstrated this year will benefit them as they move forward to the next stage of their lives.”
“These results reflect such a broad spectrum of assessments, taken over an extended period of time, and should give every student a great deal of confidence in their own abilities. I’m sure that when our students reflect on the way they have supported each other and come through the trials of this academic year in such a positive way, they will be equally proud of all they have achieved, just as everyone connected to Ullswater Community College is of them.”

GCSE Results

This hard work, along with the determination every one of our students has shown over the last two years, will place them in good stead as they move forwards.”
“The results have been secured through a broad range of assessments over a long period of time, and every student should be very proud of all they have achieved. I know that when things settle and they reflect on their time at UCC and how everyone has supported each other, they will recognise all they have accomplished. Massive congratulations to each and every one of this amazing cohort of students. “
