Covid Update

By 14 January 2022No Comments

Dear Parent/Carer

I wanted to thank you for your ongoing support and a special thanks to all of the students for the fantastic start to the new term they have made under very challenging conditions.

You may have read reports in the national press concerning potential school closures and the collapsing of classes. Although our staffing levels aren’t currently severely affected, we are aware that this may fluctuate and we need to plan accordingly.

It may be the case that some classes are collapsed together, or as a last resort some year groups may be asked to work from home for a week at a time. Similarly, if your child receives extra support in school it may be that this is limited for a short period of time.

We will do our best to avoid these scenarios but we need to be prepared for every eventuality.

You may have seen the announcement this week that from Monday 17 January 2022, people who are self-isolating with COVID-19 will have the option to reduce their isolation period after 5 full days if they test negative with a lateral flow device (LFD) test on both day 5 and day 6 and they do not have a temperature. As ever, if you have any queries or are unsure about when your child can return to school please contact us on admin@ullswatercc.co.uk

Yours faithfully

Mr S Gilby
