Dear Parent/Carer
We have received notification from the vaccination team that they will be in school on Thursday 27 January 2022 to offer the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccination (or first dose if applicable) to any student aged 12-15 years old who has written parental consent.
If your child falls into this category they will be bringing home a consent form tonight.
Important points;
- Students who do not have written parental consent will not receive the vaccination
- This programme is for 12-15 year olds only
- It is one dose of the vaccine/one injection
- School will remain open – students will be called out of lessons – have the vaccination – return to lesson
- At this point this is a one-off event, there are no planned catch-up sessions in school for any students who miss it
- The back of the consent form must be completed before returning, students who return incomplete forms will not receive the vaccination
We understand that a lot of students have now received vaccinations in the wider community so may not need to take up this offer. The immunisation team have confirmed that there must be a 12 week gap between dose one and dose two of the vaccine for students. There must also be a 12 week gap between testing positive and being vaccinated.
If you wish your child to take part next week please complete and return the consent form to school reception straightaway. The final deadline for this is Friday 21 January 2022. (The letter with the form states we have seven days to return, unfortunately that has since been changed.)
