Creative Futures Festival 2021

Dear Parent/Carer

Tomorrow marks the start of UCC’s Creative Futures Festival – between Monday 21 June and Friday 16 July, we will be running a month of events that will celebrate all the diverse and wonderful arts opportunities UCC has to offer. This year the festival theme is “Find Your Voice”.

The festival will be split into focused weeks of events and activities:

  • Week One: Mock COP26
  • Week Two: Voice 21 (Oracy)
  • Week Three: Find your Creative Voice
  • Week Four: Celebration Week

The festival will encompass everything from collaborative discussion and film to yarn bombing and listening to the brand new UCC festival soundscape. Students will be able to sign up for, and participate in a plethora of activities as well as taking part in festival activities in their lessons; workshops run by Lakeland Arts participation and learning team, University of Sunderland glass & ceramics students, Jilly Jarman, musician and leader of BlueJam Arts and the amazing John & Ben Parkinson from UpFront Puppet theatre.

Non-uniform day: On Friday 16 July, the final day of the festival and term, we will be holding a fundraising event with the theme “Express Yourself”; students and staff are invited to come dressed in their own clothes, which express who they are. The cost will be £1.00 per student and the money raised will be donated to the charity ‘Mind’.

We hope that all students will throw themselves into activities in typical enthusiastic UCC style and enjoy these imaginative and creative events.

To get into the festival spirit check out our introduction to the festival video here and the calendar for the month can be found here.

Yours faithfully
