School Trips & Visits 2023-24

Dear Parent/Carer

As promised at the end of last year we have drafted a trips/visits schedule for this academic year.

The attached document is subject to change, and more trips and visits are likely to be added once evaluated and costed, but this gives you a rough overview of the year. There is nothing more you need to do at this time, we don’t take pre-bookings or expressions of interest, nearer the date each teacher in charge will produce a letter and consent form and distribute them to students. Spaces are then allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Most trips are run by individual departments, some are limited to a single year group and some are mixed. Numbers invited vary depending on staff availability, venue restrictions and cost.

If the trip incurs a cost, this is to be paid through the school iPay system;

  • Log in at ipayimpact.co.uk
  • Click on Accounts
  • Select your child
  • You should then see the option to “Pay” for the school trip

We are determined that no student should ever miss out on an opportunity because of challenging financial circumstances.  We have already supported a large number of students with a broad range of financial support and so if you require financial assistance please complete a UCC support fund application, ideally returning this at the same time as the consent form – these can be found on our website.

The school calendar is carefully planned to try and avoid clashes, i.e. exam years don’t tend to go on trips that aren’t part of the coursework, and there are times when certain year groups have mock exams or important in-school events.

As you are aware, here at UCC we value all the things that happen outside the classroom too. School trips are a very important part of the wider educational offer and some of the most memorable elements in school life, and so we would encourage everyone to embrace every opportunity they can.

We are working to build a whole host of experiences through a student’s time in the school and hope to balance availability against time and costs.

You can access the schedule here.

Kind regards

Mr P Holliday
