Dear Parents/Carers
As you may be aware the next planned date for teacher strike action is Tuesday 28 February 2023.
I’m getting in touch to give you as much notice as possible about our arrangements for this day, which are similar to many of the schools across the county and a result of an anticipated reduced number of teaching staff on the day:
- UCC plans to remain open to Years 8, 11, 12 & 13
- School transport will be running as normal
- We plan to run lessons as normal for the students in attendance
- Lunch will be served as normal in the Westmorland Hall
- Years 7, 9 & 10 students will remain at home on Tuesday 28 February and work online from Sparks maths, Educake and other shared resources
- Year 11 mock exams scheduled for this day will continue as normal
- Any Year 7, 9 or 10 that are in receipt of free school meals – we will be providing packed lunches for these students – please complete this form to let us know that this is required and can be collected
We are sorry that you will have to make alternative arrangements for your child, and/or that they will experience disruption to their education.
I know that this situation may be frustrating, and ask that all members of our community continue to support the school in our endeavours to provide the best possible educational experience for all, in a safe and productive environment.
