Dear Parents/Carers
As we approach the crucial period of GCSE examinations in the summer term, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that every Year 11 student at UCC is adequately prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in their post-16 journey.
To this end, I am writing to inform you of individual Success meetings with all Year 11 students to discuss their post-16 destinations and assess their current academic progress. These meetings will provide a valuable opportunity to offer guidance, identify any additional support required, and ensure that each student has a solid plan in place as they navigate through exams and transition to sixth form, further education or training.
Each student will have a 10 minute meeting with a member of staff on the morning of Wednesday 13 December 2023. These meetings will take place in Room 30, during periods 1, 2 & 3.
These individual meetings are designed to ensure that every Year 11 student receives personalised attention and support as they prepare for exams and the next steps after secondary school. The information gathered during these discussions will enable us to intervene promptly if any student requires additional guidance or assistance.
On our website you will find a series of prompts that you may wish to go through with your child ahead of their interview to help them prepare; https://ullswatercc.co.uk/careers/
There will also be some time in Tutor Time for students to start thinking about the topics for discussion in their meeting.
Cooperation and participation in these meetings are crucial for the success of our students. We believe that with your support, we can collectively guide our Year 11 students towards a successful and fulfilling future.
If you have any concerns or queries regarding these meetings, please do not hesitate to contact school via admin@ullswatercc.co.uk.
Yours faithfully
Mr R. Moss, Assistant Headteacher
Mr G Key, KS4 Lead in Achievement and Standards
