Dear Parent/Carer
Year 9 students are currently in the process of deciding upon options for Years 10 and 11. As part of this process we offer a range of information, advice and guidance. All students have today been given a Year 9 Options booklet, which includes information about the Year 10 and 11 curriculum along with subject specific information.
Alongside the booklet, they will be bringing home an accompanying letter, and the Year 9 Options form, which we would appreciate if you completed with then. Please note the following;
- For the “Ebacc Options”, please pick two subjects and one reserve
- In “Options Subjects” please select 4 choices. These should be prioritised in terms of preference as stated on the options form. It is important that students would be happy to study all of these. Please see the guidance on the form for subjects that cannot be picked in combination
Once all students have submitted their options forms, course uptake will be reviewed. A decision will be made about the viability of different courses based on the numbers of students opting for each subject. For this reason, we cannot guarantee students first or second choices and this is why having the range of four options subjects that are of interest to students is vitally important.

The deadline for submission of Year 9 Options is Thursday 10 February 2022. Option forms should be handed to school reception.
