Firstly, we would like to thank you for your continuing support in ensuring your child attends school as much as possible.
With so many variables affecting attendance at present we thought we would send a reminder of what the policies are for the following;
Snow Days
The default position of the school is to remain open, provided the school site is safe. The facilities team regularly grit and salt the pathways around the site. If snow falls during the school day and the bus companies deem the roads unsafe the school will contact parents/carers, alternatively, if students normally walk home parents/carers will be contacted for permission to walk home.
If snow falls overnight the school site will be assessed for safety and the school will liaise with the bus companies to check for potential disruption. In the event that we decide to close, we inform bus providers and the local authority. Information will also be posted on our social media, and parents/carers will receive a text message at the earliest opportunity informing them of the closure.
If school remains open all students are expected to attend if it is safe for them to do so.
Teacher Strike days
As with the previous strike days the school will be open on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 March for years 11, 12 & 13.
Years 7, 8, 9 & 10 will work from home using shared resources i.e. Educake, Hegarty, Sparx.
School transport will be running as normal both days. It is the expectation that ALL students in years 11, 12 & 13 will attend school on these days as lessons will be set and students will be supervised.
