Dear Parent/Carer
We are writing with just a few weeks to go until the summer series of exams begin, and we want to thank you for your support so far.
Students will have received their individual timetables and a timetable of the entire exam series can be found on our website https://ullswatercc.co.uk/exams/
Some teachers will be running revision sessions over the Easter break – any students invited to those will receive emails over the next few days, if they have not already received them.
Mock Exams
Year 11’s have recently completed their second round of mock examinations. The overwhelming majority of students approached this in a positive way – very well done. Teachers are now feeding back to students in lessons on their exam results, a summary of which will be sent to you in due course.
Study Leave/Attendance
There isn’t a period of study leave prior to the exams, students are expected to be in school and in lessons every day until their last exam. When they are not sitting an exam they will follow their normal timetable, or take part in revision sessions. It is vital that every student maintains their attendance if they are to achieve their potential.
The exam contingency day this year is Wednesday 28 June 2023 – this is the day that all students must be available until; even if their last exam is prior to that date, there is a chance they could be required to be back in school by the exam board up until this date.
Expectations
Given the need to focus fully on their exam preparation, students will be expected to cooperate, focus, engage and work as hard as possible in all their lessons. This is to ensure that they not only maximise their own outcomes but also allow all other students to achieve their best.
Maintaining high standards of uniform is just as important as we approach the final few months of school. However, we recognise that it is not the right time to ask parents to invest in new uniform so students who are not in the correct uniform may be required to borrow new or clean pre-loved uniform from the Health Hub.
Prom
The celebratory prom will take place on Thursday 22 June 2023 at the North Lakes Hotel, from 7pm-11pm. All students are currently eligible to apply for tickets, which will be made available in three phases after the Easter break. The tickets will be sold through www.ipayimpact.co.uk and students will be informed when they have the opportunity to purchase them. The venue is limited to 200 tickets, if demand for tickets exceeds this number, it may be that student attendance and behaviour is taken into consideration when it comes to ticket allocation.
Year 11 Leavers Hoodies
Leavers hoodies are being organised, and information on how to order them will be distributed in the near future.
Leavers Photographs
We have arranged for a photographer to come into school this Friday, 24 March 2023 to take group pictures of Year 11 and Year 13, these will be available to purchase for those that wish to.
Awards Ceremony
There will be an awards ceremony taking place after the Summer for both year 11 and 13 leavers – more details will follow later in the year.
