Dear All
The ASDAN group have joined the Health and Social Care students to work on a community action project with the Salvation Army to support the Penrith food bank.
Due to COVID there is increased demand for food banks, especially this Christmas. Families in our community will struggle to provide adequate food and gifts this Christmas. We need the help of everyone in Ullswater Community College, their friends and family.
Last year the Ullswater Community donated 54 boxes, this year we have set a target of 65 boxes. In each tutor group there is a box to leave donations. We are looking for both food and gifts.
What we need:
- Tinned food
- Sanitary products
- Deodorant
- Toilet/kitchen roll
- Pet food
- Squash
- Toiletries – male and female
- Baby food/nappies and gifts
- Anything that isn’t fresh
What the Salvation Army have particularly asked for:
- Gifts and gift sets
- Kids toys
- Toiletry sets
- Bath toys
- Gift bags
- Reusable fabric shopping bags
We do not need: anything with nuts, pasta, or fresh food
Please check the dates on any donations, they must be in date at Christmas.
We will be delivering the donations to the Salvation Army on Monday 7 December, it would be great if your contribution could be in school before then.
Thank you for your co-operation and support
