Dear Parent/Carer
You will be aware cases of coronavirus appear to be rising and it is currently having a detrimental impact on our levels of staffing.
We’ve previously shared that whilst we will do our utmost to remain open to all students – depending on the availability of staff, we may need to introduce some contingency measures including asking a year group or some students to remain at home.
Our initial plans would prioritise year groups and in the first instance we would ask year 9 to work at home, followed by year 8, then 10, then 7, 12, 11 and 13. This would take place on a rotation basis to minimise the impact on any individual year. The approach will be reviewed daily and feedback provided at every opportunity.
We would hope to be able to inform parents and year groups the day before any planned closure (or partial closure), however this may not always be possible as it can be a very dynamic situation and things can change during the school day.
In the event that we need to send a part year group home at the start of, or during a school day, we will inform parents/carers and in the first instance send home the students who live locally and are able to walk home. We will also liaise with the families of any vulnerable students to ensure we can maintain their provision in school wherever possible.
Work will be made available online where students are required to work from home.
I’m sure you can appreciate that we will do everything in our powers to avoid any closure to students but we want to take this opportunity to make you aware of plans in the event of further staffing challenges arising over the coming days or weeks.
If these temporary arrangements do become necessary we will send a confirmation text message/email to all those affected as soon as possible.
I also want to once again thank you for your continued support and if you have any questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to contact us at admin@ullswatercc.co.uk
Yours faithfully
