Dear Parent/Carer
Firstly I would like to say how impressed I have been with the mature and hardworking attitude that has been displayed by the vast majority of the year group since returning to school. It once again highlights the brilliance of the young people in this cohort, and I am so impressed with how they have managed to adapt and deal with this very tough time.
With regards to the diagnostic assessments taking place in many subjects next week, I would like to reassure the students that whilst these need to be taken seriously, these are not “mock exams”, but instead a way of allowing us to clearly see where they are in terms of their learning following lock down.
This will allow us to plan effectively for the last few months of their year 11, leading up to their national exams and thus best support our students so they can achieve the very best grades they can.
If the students, or you, have any questions regarding a specific subject please contact the class teacher or Head of Department in the first instance, and for more general queries please feel free to email me or your child’s form tutor.
Yours faithfully
Mr M Castle
Head of Year 11
