Dear Parent/Carer
On Saturday (15/8/20), we received guidance from Ofqual relating to the use of ‘mock examinations’ in the appeals processes for GCE A Level qualifications and the EPQ. We worked throughout Saturday night to ensure that we were able to secure the Centre Assessed Grades for our students. We looked at results from the wide range of formal assessments students have completed, that met the ‘mock exam’ criteria from Ofqual.
Today (Sunday 16/8/20), Ofqual suspended this guidance and the mock examination part of the appeals process. Please be assured that we share your frustration with this situation. We are continuing to monitor how things progress and doing everything we can to secure the grades for our students that we believe they deserve.
We will continue to keep you updated on announcements from the Government, as and when they are made.
